CHYBIK + KRISTOF is an architectural and urban design firm founded in 2010 by Ondřej Chybík and Michal Krištof. The studio has grown to over 50 international team members, operating from offices including Prague, Brno, Bratislava, and London. Both founders met as students while participating in architectural competitions, and their decision to collaborate led to the rapid evolution of their practice.
The company’s scope covers architecture, urbanism, research, and education. Recent and ongoing projects illustrate this breadth: from the redevelopment of Mendel Square and the restoration of Mendel’s historic greenhouse in Brno, to the reimagining of large-scale infrastructures like the new terminal for Prague’s Vaclav Havel Airport, and the Ostrava Tower, which, when completed, will be the tallest building in the Czech Republic. Their approach emphasizes thoughtful integration of contemporary design with local historical and social context, often working closely with heritage authorities and clients to balance preservation with innovation.
In Prague, current work includes a significant brownfield revitalization of the Nusle Brewery, blending the industrial heritage of the site into a new public space. The portfolio also features international projects, such as a school campus in India’s Himalayas, demonstrating their capacity to work across diverse environments.
