A/B haveHUSENE is a cooperative housing association in Lisbjerg, a district of Aarhus, Denmark, within a major urban-development area. The development was built in 2023 and has 39 shareholders.
The project was developed by Kuben Management, which originated the idea and led the development; architecture firm TRANSFORM designed the houses and overall plan. The association’s chair, Carsten Møller, described buildings with yellow brick and black timber façades, with staggered sections creating varied angles and spaces between the homes.
The layout includes centrally placed green communal areas and a common house. The homes are intended for a broad range of residents, from young couples to seniors, and the shared spaces are designed to support everyday interaction and neighborhood ties.
In 2025, A/B haveHUSENE received Aarhus Arkitekturpris in the “Byens mellemrum” (“Urban Spaces”) category. Aarhus Municipality’s stated rationale highlighted the project’s green spaces, community-oriented design, social sustainability and approach to affordable living. The award ceremony took place at Dokk1.
Møller spoke on behalf of the association after the award, while Aarhus city architect Anne Mette Boye explained the jury’s appreciation of the project’s architectural consistency and the way its design encourages people to meet.
