ZwischenZeitZentrale Bremen (ZZZ) is Bremen’s point of contact for the temporary use of vacant buildings and sites. Its team has worked on temporary-use projects since 2009, initially as a pilot project and now in collaboration with Bremen’s administration.111 The organisation operates across the city of Bremen, supporting temporary uses as a way to bring vacant spaces into use and connect them with local activity.312
ZZZ advises property owners, matches prospective users with available spaces, develops concepts for challenging properties and supports projects through implementation.1 Its work also includes helping with project approvals and linking temporary uses to local development. The organisation can provide material funding to support project implementation and draws on a network of property owners, users and contacts for legal, organisational and financial matters.1
The project is delivered by AAA GmbH and is backed by Bremen’s economic, construction and finance departments, in cooperation with Immobilien Bremen and Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen.111 The ZZZ team’s publicly identified contacts include Daniel Schnier and Oliver Hasemann.3 Its office is at Zum Sebaldsbrücker Bahnhof 1, Wurst Case, in the Hemelingen district of Bremen.1 ZZZ is also part of the nationwide Netzwerk Zwischennutzung.1
