Mimolimit is an architecture and design studio based in Mala Strana, Prague, established in 1999 by Barbora Škorpilová and Jan Nedvěd. Škorpilová, the current executive director, trained under prominent architect Bořek Šípek and has led the studio to complete over 140 projects in 13 countries. Mimolimit’s work spans residential and commercial interiors, hotel and restaurant design, office spaces, and product design. The firm is recognized for its experimental approach to materials, specificity of architectural elements, and distinctive atmospheres tailored to each client and context.
Notable recent projects include the interiors for the Yasmin Hotel in Prague, the Emporio Café network, a Baroque-inspired Le Mond restaurant in Bratislava, hotels such as Perla, offices for Clifford Chance in Prague, bespoke spaces in the River Diamond residence, and several international commissions. The studio’s design for the Holiday Inn in Prague received the Best Hotel Project of 2001 award. Mimolimit contributed detailed architectural and interior concepts for high-profile projects such as Velaa Private Island in the Maldives, requiring extensive custom design and prototype development.
The studio’s scope encompasses both architectural planning and product design, often creating unique elements—from doors to furniture—for each project. Mimolimit’s staff includes architects, interior designers, and specialist craftsmen, enabling it to execute commissions from concept through implementation for a variety of international and domestic clients. The firm’s work has been exhibited in cities including New York, Milan, and London.
