Innovation Hive – Kypseli Kainotomias is a private non-profit organization headquartered at Venizelou 141 in Larissa, Greece. Established in early 2020, its core mission is to advance research and innovation with a particular emphasis on social and business innovation. The organization is characterized by its reliance on co-creation methodologies involving stakeholders from academia, industry, government, and civil society—a framework known as the quadruple helix approach.
Innovation Hive’s principal focus areas include entrepreneurship, start-up support, education and training, social inclusion, youth engagement, cultural heritage, creative industries, and digital transformation. Their operations frequently target the enhancement of economic and social cohesion within European societies.
Recent projects illustrate the organization’s broad scope. In the DigiCult initiative, Innovation Hive contributed to the development of frameworks for digitizing and preserving intangible cultural heritage, working alongside partners from multiple European countries. Through the Cities4Her project, the group is currently working to foster gender equality in local decision-making by empowering youth and municipal councils. Additionally, JuniorXpress aims to increase youth participation in local governance by supporting child-led democratic processes.
Innovation Hive is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with expertise spanning research, project management, and social innovation. The organization has established a network of partners across Europe and regularly participates in Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, and other major EU initiatives.
