The Agenția Metropolitană pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă Brașov (AMB) is an intercommunity development association based in Brașov, Romania. It was established in early 2006 through cooperation between the Municipality of Brașov, nearby communities and Brașov County Council; it has held intercommunity development association status since 2007. 2
AMB’s membership brings together local authorities across the Brașov metropolitan area, including the municipalities of Brașov, Săcele and Codlea, several towns and surrounding communes, as well as Brașov County Council. 2 Its work is focused on cooperation among public bodies, private organisations and NGOs to support the area’s sustainable economic, social and cultural development. 2
The agency supports joint planning and development initiatives among member communities. Its stated activities include preparing local development strategies, providing technical advice on investment projects, identifying funding and partnerships, and supporting infrastructure, economic development, tourism and cultural heritage. 2 It also works with European organisations and institutions to promote and implement European policies and procedures in Romanian communities. 2
AMB’s activities are metropolitan and regional in focus, rather than national or international: its stated purpose is to coordinate cooperation and development across the Brașov metropolitan area, while it also collaborates with European organisations. 2 The agency’s current team page identifies Adriana-Laura Miron as Director General, a role she has held since December 2024. 11 Its listed address is Strada Institutului 35, CATTIA, Brașov. 7
