Royal Sá da Bandeira is a redevelopment of a former bank headquarters on Rua Sá da Bandeira in central Porto, Portugal. Built in the 1960s, the building formerly housed the headquarters of Banco Borges & Irmão, later incorporated into BPI. The project is being developed by Royal Ventures, with a reported overall value exceeding €8 million.1
The conversion is planned to create eight apartments and one commercial unit, retaining the identity of the original building while introducing contemporary construction, comfort and efficiency measures. Completion was scheduled for December 2026.1 The site is close to São Bento railway station, Bolhão Market and Avenida dos Aliados, with shops, restaurants, cultural venues, services and public transport nearby.1
Architecture is by Atelier IN-DETAILS, a practice founded in 2013 by architects Pedro André Ferreira Pinheiro and Ana Rita Cambra, whose work includes urban rehabilitation.1 Royal Ventures Civil Engineering Manager Alexandre Pinto described the project as the rehabilitation of a well-located building for current residential demand in Porto.1
Royal Ventures was founded and is owned by Israeli entrepreneurs Udi Yadin and Alon Amram. The article identifies Yadin as active in Portugal and involved in the company’s developments; Amram is founder and chairman of Amram Avraham Construction Company, which operates in construction and real estate development.1 At the time of the report, three of the eight apartments had been sold, five remained available, and the commercial unit had been leased.1
