Plushusene Lisbjerg is a rental-housing community in Lisbjerg, a district of Aarhus, Denmark. It comprises 226 homes—terraced houses and apartments—at Thomas Windings Gade 4–82 and Bodil Lindorffs Gade 5–61, 8200 Aarhus N. The homes range from 62 to 116 square metres and have between two and five rooms. Lisbjerg is about nine kilometres from central Aarhus, and the site is approximately 300 metres from a light-rail stop. 2
The project pairs private homes with shared spaces and activities. Residents have access to a communal house, green courtyards, an orangery, allotment gardens and playgrounds. The community’s activities include shared meals, fitness sessions, yoga, walking and running groups, card-game evenings and outings. Participation is voluntary, though the project describes an interest in being part of community life as an expectation of residents. A community coordinator helps organise activities and support social connections. 211
Plushusene was established in 2018 by Urban Partners, formerly NREP, and M+ Invest. Plushusene Management handles letting and administration; the Lisbjerg homes are owned by NREP and M+. 311 Dansk Boligbyg was the project’s total contractor, with Sweco and SLA listed for architecture and landscape. Construction began in summer 2022, and the first residents were expected to move in during 2023. 9
The development was presented as Plushusene’s first community west of the Great Belt. Its activities combine rental housing, shared facilities and resident-led opportunities for social contact, while preserving each household’s private home. 7
