Pension de famille Servient is a supported-housing project at 44 rue Servient in Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement, France. It was inaugurated on 5 February 2026 and provides 21 permanent homes for people experiencing severe social exclusion, isolation or difficulty accessing ordinary housing.21 The residence began welcoming occupants in October 2025.6
The project was developed through a partnership between the Métropole de Lyon, social landlord GrandLyon Habitat and Habitat et Humanisme Rhône, which manages the residence.21 It converted a former school building made available by the Métropole through a long-term emphyteutic lease. GrandLyon Habitat carried out a major renovation and added height to the building at the corner of rue Servient and rue Corneille.1
The four-storey building contains 18 studio apartments (T1) and three larger T1 bis apartments, alongside about 80 square metres of shared facilities, including a kitchen, common room and laundry. A landscaped courtyard provides an additional shared outdoor space.1 The project cost €2,775,579; reported contributors include GrandLyon Habitat, the State, the Métropole and City of Lyon, and Entreprise des Possibles.1
Unlike emergency accommodation, a pension de famille offers residents a stable home without a fixed time limit.2 Habitat et Humanisme Rhône oversees daily operations, with a house host and a multidisciplinary team providing ongoing support intended to encourage residents’ autonomy and connection to the neighbourhood.1
The available sources do not state a founding date for the project organisation or identify individual project founders. They describe the initiative as a joint project of the three partner organisations.21
