Ostravský mrakodrap is a planned conversion of a disused high-rise on Ostrčilova Street in Ostrava, Czech Republic, into a residential building. The tower was built in 1965–1968 and is 68 metres tall; Ostrava City initiated a redevelopment proposal in 2020–2021 after years of seeking a partner for the deteriorating building. 81
The architectural design was prepared by AI Design, led by architects Eva Jiřičná and Petr Vágner. The original proposal envisaged up to 75 apartments, while the revised scheme described in 2025 provides for 111 apartments. 31 The project also envisages adding two floors and an external circulation core with new lifts and stairs. 1
The city selected First Skyscraper as the developer. At the time of the 2025 report, the company was owned in equal shares by developers and construction firms Bamika and BBP Stavby. 1 The agreed purchase price for the building and land was 120 million Czech crowns. 1
Crowdberry is raising 80 million crowns from private investors towards the acquisition, with investors expected to hold a majority stake in the project through a special-purpose company. 1 The reported reconstruction budget exceeds 530 million crowns, with the developers also seeking bank financing for the works. 51 The project is intended to create a residential building with 111 apartments, following the city’s earlier redevelopment initiative. 31
