Le Nid is a housing project in Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium, developed by Community Land Trust Bruxelles (CLTB). It is presented by CLTB as its first pilot project and is inhabited by seven households. The project is located at Rue Verheyden 121, near Gare de l’Ouest, in a residential area with local services and amenities.
The project transformed a disused parish centre into a mixed-use ensemble of seven apartments, a collective garden, and an associative space with a multipurpose room. One of the apartments is adapted for persons with reduced mobility. The communal garden is open to the neighbourhood, and the community space is used by a paramedical team, reflecting the project’s role beyond housing alone.
According to CLTB, the residents played a central role throughout the development process, particularly in organisational, legal, and architectural matters. They formed the civil society entity “Le Nid” together with CLTB and were trained in the use of the building and in co-ownership management. The project was developed with LOW-A as architect and Balcaen & Fils as renovation contractor.
CLTB, founded in 2012, works in the Brussels-Capital Region to develop affordable homeownership projects through a Community Land Trust model. Le Nid illustrates this approach through resident involvement, shared spaces, and a long-term collective management structure.
