Futura Clara is a cooperative rental-housing association in the Futura block at Lindholmshamnen, Gothenburg, Sweden. Riksbyggen developed the project as housing for young adults aged 18–35; the project’s 40 homes comprise 32 individual flats and eight rooms in a shared co-living apartment. 13
The homes are near Lindholmshamnen’s small-boat harbour and the planned Karlastaden development. The co-living residents share a kitchen and living room, while each has a private room and bathroom. 36
Futura Clara uses cooperative rental tenure, a model combining features of rental and owner-occupied housing. Residents become members of the association and have influence over their housing; they pay an initial contribution that is returned if they move, and the home cannot be sold by the resident. The association owns and governs its property, with management carried out in cooperation with Riksbyggen. 34
Riksbyggen announced the project in 2023, stating that the homes were expected to be ready for occupation in early 2024. 3 The project is part of the wider Futura block, which also includes two housing cooperatives developed by Riksbyggen. 3
