A former school at Boylestraat 18–20 in the Valkenboskwartier neighbourhood of The Hague, Netherlands, is being converted into 24 independent social-rental homes for young people. The project is intended to address the difficulty young residents face finding housing. 23
Haag Wonen, a housing association, is the client and project developer, working with contractor Van Mierlo Dinkq. The design is by Architekten Kombinatie. 23 Half of the homes are intended for young people moving from care into independent living; the other half are for young people seeking regular housing. 35 The initial announcement described the intended residents as young adults up to age 28. 3
The conversion retains the school’s characteristic front façade while adapting the building for housing. The rear grounds are to become a shared garden with seating and bicycle storage, and existing trees will remain. 23 Construction began in August 2026. 23 The published project information does not identify a founding date or provide a fuller account of the organisations’ activities beyond their roles in this redevelopment. 23
