Wir vom Gut eG is a registered housing cooperative based at Gut Mydlinghoven in Düsseldorf-Hubbelrath, Germany. The cooperative owns the listed former manor and was established to provide affordable housing while taking responsibility for the historic buildings and surrounding landscape. 314
The project has been realised since 2016 as a multigenerational community for families, couples and single people. The organisation’s website describes 47 separate homes, about 2,000 square metres of shared indoor space and a 77,000-square-metre site; around 100 residents, from infants to people over 90, live there. 1 The cooperative’s registered seat is Düsseldorf, and its address is Mydlinghoven 4, 40629 Düsseldorf. 29
Residents participate through cooperative shares that confer a right to use a home rather than conventional private ownership. The cooperative’s working structure includes groups for community life, buildings and technology, and estate activities. Residents also meet in a monthly plenary and organise shared work days; activities include maintaining communal areas and coordinating a shop, café and communal cooking. 3
Its work is centred on the Mydlinghoven site and its residential community in Düsseldorf. The organisation also describes event and seminar-space enquiries as part of its activities, but the sources reviewed do not indicate a wider geographic remit. 110
