The Vereinigte Wohnungsgenossenschaft eG (VWG) is a housing cooperative based in Braunschweig, Germany. Its history traces to two organisations: the Hausgenossenschaft eGmbH, founded on 11 March 1923, and the Baugenossenschaft der Kriegsbeschädigten, Kriegsteilnehmer und Kriegshinterbliebenen eGmbH, founded on 18 March 1926. The two merged on 27 September 1941 for economic reasons. 1

Most of its housing is in Braunschweig’s eastern and western Ring areas and Weststadt, with further rentals in other parts of the city and in Bad Harzburg. Its work includes maintaining and modernising its property portfolio; the cooperative also carries out some repairs through its own maintenance team and works with regional trades businesses. 1
The organisation describes itself as open to all people. Prospective tenants must first become members of the cooperative. 2 Its registered and main office is at Bültenweg 31A in Braunschweig. The listed board members are Silke Koch-v. Czapiewski and Andreas Rost. 45
