TIBA Architects Studio is an architectural and engineering practice based in Budapest, Hungary, founded in 2005 by János Tiba. The studio has developed a versatile portfolio that spans office buildings, hotels, educational institutions, and heritage renovations. After the sudden passing of its founder in 2016, TIBA commemorated his legacy with the release of a geometric concrete wall panel collection, created in partnership with KAZA Concrete.
The firm’s operations are marked by a combination of professional management and design-driven problem-solving. TIBA’s team includes professionals with international experience, resulting in the completion of projects not just in Hungary but also in countries like the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Russia. As of recent years, the studio employs a multidisciplinary staff and works from a self-designed office in Budapest’s city center, purpose-built in 2019 to embody its core values and support more efficient operations. This office occupies 300 square meters.
TIBA’s project scope includes new construction and complex renovation tasks. Notable examples include the new headquarters for Magyar Telekom and T-Systems Hungary, and the extension for the Lauder Javne Jewish Community School, an addition balancing functional needs with a contemporary architectural language. Increasingly, TIBA emphasizes energy-efficient, sustainable design and the use of renewable energy technologies, reflecting current industry standards and client expectations. The studio’s heritage work demonstrates its technical breadth, as seen in the sensitive refurbishment of historical structures.
