Sviluppo Immobiliare Corio (SIC) is a Milan-based, family-owned real estate development and management company rooted in four generations of activity in the region. The organisation’s origins are closely tied to the entrepreneurial history of the Cabassi family, and its operations began in the urban transformation of Milan, including demolition, excavation, and requalification of large urban and peri-urban plots, particularly in the north-western quadrant of Milan and surrounding municipalities.
SIC’s documented evolution started with land and quarry acquisitions, adapting quickly to Milan’s postwar construction boom by converting these assets for residential and commercial uses. Notable early projects include the Borsa Merci, the La Viscontina residential complex in Buccinasco, and the PL3 and PL4 office buildings, the latter designed by Mario Bellini. Under later family leadership, SIC focused heavily on office and mixed-use projects in southwest Milan and the hinterland, realizing assets such as Orsa Maggiore and Minore in Assago, the Via Bisceglie 95 building (leased to Dalkia), and the Frame Building in Peschiera Borromeo, now home to the Avalon3 data centre.
Today, SIC develops and manages diverse real estate projects in Milan and beyond, covering the whole value chain from property acquisition and project planning through to asset management and property enhancement. Recent examples include the Frame Building, as well as the Torch and Monolith buildings in the Lorenteggio district of Milan. The company’s scope encompasses both new urban developments and the adaptive reuse of existing structures, aiming for long-term asset value alongside urban regeneration.
