Stambena zadruga „Solidarno“ is a housing cooperative founded in May 2002 by the Education Trade Union of Montenegro to address the housing needs of employees in educational and upbringing institutions. 3 Its work focuses on making housing available to education workers through collective construction and support for members seeking individual housing solutions. 3
The cooperative’s own website says it has built more than 788 housing units since its establishment, while a government document reports 740 units across 15 Montenegrin municipalities. 23 The reported totals differ, and the available sources do not explain the difference. Its projects span municipalities including Podgorica, Budva, Nikšić, Berane, Bijelo Polje, Cetinje, Herceg Novi and Tivat, indicating a national scope within Montenegro. 23
The cooperative works with public institutions and members to finance housing. A government account describes favourable loans for individual housing needs, alongside collective building projects developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. 3 The website also describes its approach as based on solidarity and economy, with the aim of meeting members’ housing needs at minimal cost. 2
Podgorica is the clearest available location for the organisation: its website records cooperative meetings and assemblies there, and government documents associate the cooperative with that city. 23 The sources reviewed do not identify a registered street address or name the cooperative’s current executive leadership. A website notice from December 2024 names Nihad Kršić as president of the Assembly and Andrijana Bojanović as president of the Supervisory Board at that time. 2
