Spotr, based at Saturnusstraat 95 in The Hague, Netherlands, operates an AI platform that analyzes satellite and street images to inspect properties at scale. Founded in 2021 by Dirk Huibers (CEO), Tara Campagne (CPO), and Marieke Dijksma (product design), it started by automating inspections for Dutch housing organizations, monitoring over 250,000 buildings.
The company raised €2.5 million in seed funding in 2022 from Volta Ventures, InnovationQuarter, and Concrete Ventures to enter the UK market with 10 housing corporations. In January 2024, it secured €4.5 million more from EDF Pulse Ventures and prior backers, bringing its team to 25 full-time employees and adding Bart Jan Hin as CCO and Sander Mulders as CTO. This capital targets expansion into insurance, serving clients like Zurich and real estate owner Alliantie, with a goal to inspect 15 million properties in two years.
Spotr creates digital models of buildings to assess size, materials, condition, and type, replacing physical checks for 98% of uninspected properties. Active in the Netherlands, UK, Ireland, France, and Sweden, it aids insurers against underinsurance and housing firms with decarbonization, such as identifying solar panel sites. EDF entities are testing it for European commercial portfolios.
