SBD Praha is a Czech housing cooperative and property-management organisation headquartered in Prague 8–Kobylisy. Its registered address is Střelničná 1861/8a, 182 00 Prague, Czech Republic.5 The cooperative was founded on 2 June 1959 as Stavební bytové družstvo zaměstnanců n.p. ČKD Praha and was entered in the company register on 8 June 1959.3 Its current name, Stavební bytové družstvo Praha, has been used since 2002.3
The organisation manages and operates residential buildings for homeowners’ associations, housing cooperatives, private owners and municipal housing providers.3 Its services cover routine administration, technical operation, legal and organisational support, supplier negotiations, service-cost optimisation and statutory-body functions for residential buildings.3 SBD Praha also provides digital building management, online communication, remote data administration and tools for allocating and billing building-related costs.3
According to its own information, SBD Praha manages nearly 380 buildings containing more than 23,000 residential units and has approximately 70 employees.3 It also provides statutory-body services in around one in six buildings under its management.3 The organisation has increasingly focused on managing homeowners’ associations and housing cooperatives since 2005.3
SBD Praha has operated in cooperative housing construction since 2010 and since 2015 has organised cooperative housing projects.3 It has participated in approximately two dozen projects comprising more than 1,500 cooperative apartments in Prague and other Czech locations, including Milovice, Klíčany, Plzeň, Liberec, Pardubice and Svitavy.3 Its primary operational focus is Prague, while its housing-development activities extend across the Czech Republic.3
