Hermansson Hiller Lundberg Arkitekter is an architectural practice based in Stockholm, Sweden, founded in 2010 by Andreas Hermansson, Andreas Hiller, and Samuel Lundberg, who initially met at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The trio began working together professionally in 2006 after an early collaboration running an art gallery. Their studio has since developed a reputation for engaging with a wide range of architectural scales and typologies, from private houses to large-scale residential conversions.
Notable projects include the conversion of a 1990s office building in Nacka, outside Stockholm, into approximately 200 apartments across 69 distinct layouts. This project, known as No.4, maintained the original structure’s facades while reworking its internal organization for residential use and was nominated for the Swedish ROT Award in 2019. Other built works include House Skuru in Nacka and House Juniskär in Sundsvall, both recognized for their rigorous architectural approach and nuanced reinterpretation of historical references.
The office has also been involved in care homes, hotels, and master planning, and the partners continue to lecture at the master's level at KTH. Throughout its evolution, the practice has been awarded honors such as the National Swedish Design Award (2016) and the Best Architects 18 Gold Award (2017). Hermansson Hiller Lundberg remains noted for a collaborative process rooted in continuous dialogue, prioritizing architecture’s disciplinary tools and its historical context, without resorting to superficial formal gestures.
