GKMP Architects is an architecture practice based in Dublin, established in 2003 by Grace Keeley and Michael Pike, initially in Barcelona before relocating to Ireland in 2004. The company is registered as a limited entity since 1999 and holds membership with the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, including accreditation in conservation at Grade III.
The practice’s core focus is the design of domestic spaces, which includes both one-off private houses and larger housing projects. GKMP has also been involved in shaping public spaces; notable examples are the restoration and landscaping of The Parade, Canal Walk, and Canal Square in Kilkenny, completed in 2009, and work at the Waterford Viking Triangle, completed in 2014. Residential projects such as the Vaulted House and the Hedge House in Dublin have received critical acclaim and several national awards, including the Irish Architecture Awards and the Irish Concrete Society Awards.
GKMP’s work has international visibility, with exhibitions at platforms such as the Venice Biennale and the Chicago Architecture Biennial. As of recent years, current projects include the transformation of St. Senan’s Hospital in Enniscorthy into housing and public uses, ongoing residential commissions, and interventions in urban public space.
The studio is led by Grace Keeley and Michael Pike, and employs a team including architect Paul Durcan, with past collaborators contributing to a diverse project portfolio. GKMP’s approach is recognized for its attention to context, material, and the everyday use of buildings and outdoor spaces.
