Future Hubs is a Romanian nonprofit association based in Cluj-Napoca. Its legal name is Asociația Future Hubs, and it was granted legal personality in 2025; the project that preceded the association began in 2024. 3
The project grew out of work by Loredana Vale and Robert Eduard Antal to report on the Eurocities Annual Conference hosted by Cluj-Napoca in May 2024. 35 The association’s founding council includes president Robert Eduard Antal, vice-president Loredana Vale and secretary Debrețeni Raynhold-Hunor; Meda Andreea Căpîlna is also identified as a volunteer and marketing manager. 3811
Future Hubs publishes profiles of European cities, covering subjects including their economies, transport, governance and cost of living, and interviews mayors, deputy mayors, city officers and organisers involved in urban projects. 13 Its archive reports on 206 cities across 38 countries, while its interview series includes 13 conversations recorded at and following the 2024 Eurocities conference. 19 The organisation says it checks sources for published figures and updates or corrects material when it is no longer accurate. 1
Its work also includes event coverage and local activity in Cluj-Napoca. The association describes aims that include countering disinformation, publishing reporting on positive news and urban initiatives, organising workshops and cultural events, and bringing European news to local communities. 3 Its geographic reach is therefore European in its city reporting, alongside a stated community focus in Cluj-Napoca. 13
