Equa Cooperativa Sociale is a type A social cooperative based in the Milan metropolitan area, established in January 2022 when two organizations—Genera and Tuttinsieme, each with over 30 years of experience—merged to form a new entity. The cooperative comprises a community of nearly 400 professionals and includes 198 active members. Its operational reach extends throughout the city of Milan—particularly in municipalities 7, 8, and 9—and also covers neighboring towns such as Assago, Buccinasco, and Cormano.
Equa is oriented towards educational, social, health, and welfare services, supporting diverse groups ranging from children to the elderly. The organization manages 27 shelters for vulnerable individuals, and its “La Rondine” project focuses on expanding accommodation for women who are victims of domestic violence and trafficking. Recent renovation efforts under this initiative will create an additional 15 beds in three new units.
Membership in the Passepartout consortium and collaboration with academic institutions including the University of Milano Bicocca and the Polytechnic University of Milan reinforce Equa's connection with the broader community. The cooperative holds ISO 9001 and Gender Equality certifications, annually renewing its commitment to quality, inclusion, and compliance with regulations. Its projects are continually updated to address emerging social needs, with planned and measurable goals in both service improvement and gender diversity. Equa’s activities are regularly monitored through audits and public administration oversight.
