Elastiko is an architecture studio founded in 2017 in Barcelona by architect Iker Alzola, following his professional experience at international firms including Foster & Partners in London, where he contributed to projects such as Apple Park in California. The studio operates with a multidisciplinary team and is defined by a commitment to adaptive design, environmental responsibility, and the development of spaces intended to positively impact society.
Since its founding, Elastiko has taken on a variety of architectural, interior design, and landscape projects, with a portfolio that includes headquarters for companies, office buildings, co-working spaces, and innovation hubs, primarily in Barcelona and its metropolitan area. Notable recent projects include the Magic Box headquarters in Sant Cugat (~3,800 square meters), the 22@ Startup Hub in Barcelona’s Poblenou district (845 square meters), and several locations for Cloudworks, a co-working provider. The studio has also designed flexible office spaces, such as the NN workingflex model for Grup Núñez i Navarro, aiming to foster collaboration and well-being within restored historic buildings.
Elastiko’s work often involves the transformation of former industrial or heritage sites, integrating new functions while preserving spatial continuity and maximizing natural light. Project sizes and functions are varied, ranging from medium-sized offices for technology and creative companies to large public sector commissions, such as the new headquarters for the Catalan Department of Health. The studio remains closely linked to Barcelona, with most of its activities and impact centered around the city’s evolving work and innovation landscape.
