Dimore Studio is a Milan-based architectural and design firm founded in 2003 by Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci. Initially beginning in a single room with one assistant, the studio has grown to employ a team operating from a historic address on Via Solferino in Milan. Moran, originally from North Carolina with a background in graphic design, and Salci, from Tuscany and a former art director at Cappellini, each bring distinct perspectives that define the studio’s output. Their shared approach is marked by the juxtaposition of historical references and contemporary elements across interiors, furniture, textiles, and lighting.
Dimore Studio’s portfolio spans residential, retail, and hospitality projects globally. Notable commissions include the complete refurbishment of the Grand Hotel et de Milan, the interior of Hotel Saint-Marc in Paris, and retail concepts such as the Aesop store in Milan. Their approach often incorporates iconic 20th-century Italian furniture and craftsmanship alongside their own designs, developed under the Dimoremilano brand launched in 2019.
In 2014, they expanded into the exhibition sector by founding Dimoregallery, which showcases both vintage and contemporary objects and, since 2022, operates in a 700-square-meter space near Milan’s Centrale station. Dimore Studio’s design language is distinguished by bold color palettes, contrasting textures, and layered atmospheres, which pay homage to Milanese tradition while producing spaces that evoke emotion and layered narratives rooted in both memory and innovation.
