DEN Finland Oy, founded in 1989, is the largest builder of single-family houses in Finland and operates primarily from the Helsinki metropolitan area, with its registered address in Vantaa. The company emerged from the pioneering work of Pohjolan Design-Talo, which introduced turnkey prefabricated houses to Finland and later rebranded as Designtalo. In 2018, following acquisitions—including the log house manufacturer Finnlamelli and Talliosake, which focuses on multi-purpose facilities—the group adopted the name DEN Finland Oy.
The company’s portfolio encompasses several established brands: Designtalo (turnkey homes with ecological options), Finnlamelli (log houses and ecological public buildings), and Ainoakoti (a collaboration with K-Rauta, sold through retail stores). The houses are designed by architects, manufactured in dedicated factories in Nivala and Alajärvi, and delivered move-in ready. Production in Nivala began in 2006 and the company delivered nearly 500 house elements in 2021. DEN also exports log houses and operates in Sweden under the Talli brand.
Ownership is primarily through private equity firm Capman, alongside Finnish Industry Investment and company management. Financially, DEN reported a turnover of €226.2 million in 2022, with over 400 employees. Recent years saw organizational restructuring: in 2023, its homes and premises businesses were separated, with Talliosake Oy now handling premises and DEN Finland Oy focusing on homes.
