Cordeel Group is a privately owned Belgian construction company headquartered in Temse, near Brussels, that traces its origins to a carpentry business founded in 1934 by Ghislain Cordeel in Sint-Niklaas. Over the past nine decades, it has transformed into one of Belgium’s most prominent construction groups and is now a significant European player with operations extending to the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and Serbia, along with reference projects in other countries including France and Germany.
The group employs around 1,800 people and reported a turnover of €990 million in 2024, with ambitions to reach €1 billion in annual revenue. In Belgium alone, turnover in 2024 was about €440 million. Recent years have seen a steady recovery and growth, after setbacks like a notable loss in 2023 due to exceptional write-downs and increased costs.
Cordeel Group’s activities encompass the full spectrum of the construction cycle: from design and technical realization to delivery and long-term maintenance. The company undertakes housing, industrial, logistics, civil, and hydraulic engineering projects, and has completed hundreds of buildings across Europe, including apartment complexes, industrial parks, healthcare facilities, shopping malls, and schools. Notable ongoing projects include the Oosterweel Link in Antwerp and the AZ Jan Portaels hospital in Vilvoorde.
The group emphasizes in-house capabilities, operating its own production facilities for precast concrete, steel, and even industrial cladding. Cordeel has also launched initiatives such as NEXUS Logistics, focusing on sustainable and modular warehouse construction, and maintains subsidiaries like Imtech Belgium and Baeck Industrial Cladding to offer integrated technical and building solutions.
