Brabrand Boligforening is a Danish non-profit housing association founded on 29 April 1948 to help address the housing shortage after the Second World War.1 Its first apartments opened in 1950 in Hans Broges Parken, Brabrand; later development included Søvangen and large housing projects in Gellerup in the early 1970s.1
The association is based in Brabrand, in the Aarhus area, and its stated geographical focus is the suburbs and surrounding area of Aarhus.16 Its history page describes a portfolio of 30 housing departments, with further development under way; the listed communities range from Brabrand and Aarhus city districts to Hasselager, Harlev, Solbjerg and Tranbjerg.1 The portfolio includes family, youth and senior housing, with individual departments varying in size and resident mix.1
The association’s current managing director is Kristian Würtz, who took up the position in January 2022.1112 Its activities include managing and developing housing and supporting residents through local service arrangements: each housing department has an associated service manager to assist residents with day-to-day matters.4 The organization also maintains resident and association governance structures, including representative and department boards.8
