BEHF Architects is an architecture firm based in Vienna, Austria, founded in 1995 by Armin Ebner, Susi Hasenauer, and Stephan Ferenczy. The company started with a commission to design a sizable retail outlet and has since grown into one of Austria’s largest architectural offices, employing approximately 100 to 120 people. BEHF is notable for its interdisciplinary team, which includes architects, interior designers, and planners.
The studio’s project scope encompasses corporate architecture, urban planning, restoration of historic buildings, interior design, and residential, hospitality, and retail structures. Among its recent and ongoing projects are the refurbishment of the Stafa Tower—a landmark nine-story department store from 1911 now converted into a hotel and Austria’s first LEED-certified historic building—the transformation of Vienna’s former post and telegraph office at Naschmarkt into office spaces and a hotel suite, and the design of a high-rise residential block for the MGC Plaza urban development in Vienna.
Other high-profile projects include the Telegraf 7 office conversion (awarded for its sensitive integration of modern office spaces in a historic setting) and the WEIN & CO flagship store. The firm consistently participates in all phases of project realisation, from initial concepts through completion, and has received national and international recognition, including German Design, Iconic, and Architizer awards.
