Placemaking Week Europe 2026 is a four‑day European festival on public space and community‑driven citymaking, held in Wroclaw, Poland, from 22–25 September 2026. It is organised by Placemaking Europe, a leading network of practitioners, city officials, academics, and community leaders dedicated to advancing placemaking across the continent.
The event typically brings together more than 400–500 participants from Europe and beyond to share tools, strategies, and real‑world examples of how to turn underused spaces into vibrant, inclusive places. Over 3.5–4 days, the programme usually features keynotes, parallel sessions, hands‑on workshops, site visits, and on‑the‑street experiments that allow participants to experience the host city’s public spaces firsthand.
In Wroclaw, attendees can expect a strong focus on local initiatives and challenges, using the city as a living laboratory for topics such as street transformation, tactical urbanism, co‑creation with residents, and climate‑conscious urban design. The week is designed for urbanists, municipal staff, community groups, designers, cultural organisations, and others interested in practical, collaborative approaches to better cities.
Placemaking Week Europe 2026 will also serve as a major networking platform, connecting Wroclaw with an international community of placemakers and positioning the city as a visible hub for innovative public‑space practices in Europe.
