The Festival of the New European Bauhaus 2026 is the third edition of the New European Bauhaus Festival, taking place in Brussels, Belgium from 9 to 13 June 2026. It is organised by the European Commission.
The 2026 theme focuses on the transformative power of democratic engagement in shaping communities that are inclusive, sustainable, and beautiful, with a strong emphasis on affordable housing, citizen-led design, and “life first, then spaces, then buildings.”
Over five days, the festival will bring together creators, policymakers, local authorities, innovators, and citizens to explore how the New European Bauhaus can turn the European Green Deal into tangible improvements in everyday life.
The programme is structured around four pillars: a Forum for debates and exchanges; a Fair showcasing innovative projects, prototypes, and laboratories aligned with New European Bauhaus values; a Fest celebrating culture and art through performances, exhibitions, and participatory activities; and Satellite Events organised independently in Brussels, across Europe, and beyond, physically or online.
Overall, the festival is both a celebration and a stocktaking moment for the New European Bauhaus movement, highlighting practical solutions that combine sustainability, inclusion, accessibility, and good design.
