The project concerns the energy-efficiency renovation of a 27-home public housing building at Plaza de la Corredera 43 in Córdoba, Spain. The homes belong to the Agencia de Vivienda y Rehabilitación de Andalucía (AVRA), the Andalusian Housing and Rehabilitation Agency; the works were put out to tender by the Junta de Andalucía. 2
The tender budget was €627,499. Interested companies had until 8 January to submit offers, and the selected contractor was to have nine months to complete the work. The article does not state the year for the 8 January deadline. 2
The renovation is intended to reduce household energy use and greenhouse-gas emissions, alongside repairs to shared areas and building services. Because the building faces Plaza de la Corredera, a site designated a Bien de Interés Cultural, the protected façade is to be preserved: high-performance aerogel panels with plasterboard will be fitted internally to walls facing the square and Calle Espartería. The roof in this section will not be altered because its insulation is considered adequate, while existing windows will be replaced with wooden, double-glazed units designed to retain the façade’s appearance. 2
In the unprotected part of the building, the plans include external insulation using agglomerated natural cork, a new insulated and waterproofed roof, and replacement windows made of multi-chamber PVC with double glazing. Shared-area work includes repairing the entrance door, pilaster bases and balconies, upgrading lighting to LEDs with presence detectors, and carrying out necessary repairs to the drainage system. 2
The Córdoba scheme was one of 12 AVRA tenders announced for the final quarter of the year, covering 586 homes across Andalucía. The wider package was budgeted at €13.4 million, funded through the European Regional Development Fund’s 2021–2027 programme for Andalucía. 2
