Lebensplätze für Frauen, Loferfeld 58 is a permanent housing project for older women who have experienced homelessness. It is located in Lochhausen, in western Munich, Germany, and provides 33 accessible apartments in a former office building that was renovated for the project. 24
The project is operated by Evangelisches Hilfswerk München gGmbH, part of Diakonie München und Oberbayern. The site was developed by Residia Projekt GmbH, which also acts as landlord; the City of Munich’s Social Department funds the service. 411 The residents are single women, generally aged around 50 or older, who receive individual apartments and regular rental contracts, enabling them to live there long term. 4
The housing model builds on Diakonie’s first “Lebensplätze” project, established in Munich in 2011. 45 At the Loferfeld site, a multidisciplinary team supports residents with issues including illness, trauma, finances and social connection. Support is voluntary, and residents decide whether to use it. 2
The project’s public handover took place on 18 December 2025, with Munich Mayor Verena Dietl among those attending. 34 The new apartments add to the city’s wider network of permanent housing for women who have experienced homelessness. 4
