Gemeindewohnungen Adlergasse Puntigam is a municipal housing development in the Puntigam district of Graz, Austria. Built on land owned by the City of Graz, the four-storey building contains 20 city-owned apartments. The developer was Wohnen Graz, the city’s housing organisation. 12
Construction began with a project event on 21 November 2024. The apartments were completed and occupied in early April 2026; residents and neighbours marked the new residents’ arrival at a gathering later that month. 12 The project was described by the city as its third development in which it had resumed building municipal housing itself, alongside its housing-transfer programme, after a 50-year period in which it had not acted as builder of municipal homes. 1
The apartments range from 46 to 70 square metres; two are designed for people with disabilities. The initial plan also included 12 covered parking spaces, planted outdoor areas and children’s play areas. 2 The completed development includes a large playground, a shared room, fibre-optic internet, district heating and a photovoltaic system, as well as generous outdoor space. 12
Architect Hansjörg Tschom’s design was selected through a competition. Lederer-Grabner was the construction contractor. People identified by the city in connection with the project included Mayor and Housing Councillor Elke Kahr, Wohnen Graz managing director Gerhard Uhlmann, construction management head Herbert Rauscher and contractor representative Claudia Heritsch. 12
The supplied project information gives the construction start and completion dates but does not state a founding date for the project as a separate organisation. 12
