At 58–60 avenue Parmentier in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, the former Peugeot garage has been converted into a residential building with 63 homes: 50 social-rental units and 13 intermediate-rent units. The project was delivered in 2025, following construction work that began in 2022.
Batigère Habitat and Quadral Promotion jointly served as project developers. Atelier Téqui Architectes was responsible for the design, Bouygues Bâtiment Habitat Social was the general contractor, and CET Ingénierie provided technical engineering services. The original garage was designed by architect Claude Beraud and built in 1957; the redevelopment retained its original structure and garage floor slabs.
The work involved substantial rehabilitation and restructuring, as well as a three-storey timber-and-metal extension. The completed building includes homes ranging from T2 to T5, a ground-floor commercial space, planted courtyards and gardens, an entrance passage and a planted roof terrace. The project cost €43.8 million, financed through €9.7 million in grants, €21 million in loans and €13.1 million in equity.
Before redevelopment, Batigère Habitat acquired the site in 2017 and, with the association AMLI, used it as an emergency accommodation centre from 2018 to 2022. It provided more than 180 places for families and women experiencing hardship; AMLI managed the centre and supported residents.
Batigère Habitat’s broader activities include developing and rehabilitating social and intermediate housing. The project booklet does not state when Batigère Habitat was founded.
