ENTER Amsterdam is a housing conversion in the Overamstel business park, along Joan Muyskenweg beside the A2 motorway in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Four former office buildings dating from the 1990s were paired and connected to create two residential blocks, each extended by three storeys. The project delivered 191 private-sector rental apartments, with layouts of two to four rooms and reported sizes of roughly 50–120 m². 16
The development retained the buildings’ structural frames while their original façades were dismantled. The new design combines brickwork, large windows and suspended balconies, with lightweight upper-storey additions. The blocks are joined by a new section that includes a shared roof terrace. 16
Heddes Bouw & Ontwikkeling was the Design & Build contractor and project developer for the transformation; Ector Hoogstad Architecten designed it. The initial property developer was Delta Lloyd Vastgoed, and the completed apartments passed to Vesteda. DWA and IMd also contributed as advisers to the project team. 156
The project began construction in 2018 and was completed in 2019; a project-management source records preparation during 2015–2017 and execution from 2017 to 2020, with the buildings handed over around mid-2018. 569 The project’s scope was to repurpose the existing office complex as rental housing, with a mix of conventional apartments and shared “friends” units. 611
