Bari Social Housing is a subsidised housing project in the Torricella area of Santo Spirito, Bari, in southern Italy. Its homes are part of Parco Gentile, a residential development intended for people whose incomes are too high for public housing but insufficient to afford housing at market prices. 23
The project was promoted by Fondo Esperia, a real-estate investment fund managed by Fabrica Immobiliare SGR S.p.A.; the City of Bari’s 2024 notice identifies Fabrica as the implementing body for the homes covered by that call. 23 The wider development was proposed by Residence Parco Gentile s.r.l. and was covered by a convention between Fabrica and the municipality signed on 30 September 2016. 4 The original project notice described a planned 226-apartment complex, with homes for sale, rent, and rent with an option for future purchase at controlled prices and rents. 6 Fabrica’s project page also gives the total as 226 apartments. 7
The housing is aimed at groups including young people and couples, older people, students, and families. 3 The project extends beyond allocating homes: the notice describes plans for shared spaces and services intended to support community life and involve both residents and the wider neighbourhood. 2 A later municipal call focused on 62 conventionally priced homes at Parco Gentile: 37 for sale, 20 for rent with a future-purchase agreement, and five for longer-term rent with tenant purchase-preference rights. 3
The available sources describe a development and housing-allocation initiative rather than a project founded by an individual; they identify the fund, its manager, the developer and the municipal partner. 234
