Wohn- und Siedlungsgenossenschaft Zürich (wsgz) is a cooperative housing association founded in 1944 and headquartered in Zurich. Today, it manages over 1,100 apartments, making it one of the mid-sized housing cooperatives in the region. Roughly a third of its flats are located within the city of Zurich, while the remainder are distributed throughout the canton. There are also two multifamily buildings in Niederlenz, in the neighboring canton of Aargau.
wsgz operates as a politically and religiously neutral, non-profit organisation. Its governance includes a board of eleven registered members. The cooperative’s main purpose is to provide its members with modern and healthy living spaces by acquiring land and building both multi- and single-family homes, including ownership apartments. wsgz also undertakes redevelopment of existing buildings.
