Wallin Bostad AB, originally founded as Erik Wallin AB in 1927, is a Stockholm-based, family-owned construction and real estate company now led by the third generation. The enterprise began when Erik Wallin, with financial help from his mother, built housing in Stockholm’s then-overlooked districts such as Bromma and Stora Essingen. Over the decades, the firm steadily expanded, notable for constructing residential buildings for both private and public clients, and carrying out large public infrastructure assignments like the building of several Stockholm metro stations from the 1960s onward.
Today, Wallin Bostad is jointly owned by the Wallin family and Besqab AB, each holding a 50% share. The company maintains independent governance and financial structure. The main focus is developing new residential buildings, primarily in Stockholm, with emphasis on architectural quality and contextual design.
Recent projects include the Hagastaden development, adding around 150 dwellings in the Oxford and Coimbra city blocks, both high-rise residential buildings located in a growing life science district near central Stockholm. Wallin Bostad’s projects such as Bergsvåg, Furuhusen, and Zenhusen have garnered repeated nominations for national architecture and building awards.
The scope of activity remains focused on the Stockholm region, spanning from land acquisition and project development to construction and property management, positioning Wallin Bostad as a consistent, if moderately sized, force in shaping the city’s evolving urban landscape.
