Szczecińskie Towarzystwo Budownictwa Społecznego is a municipal housing company based in Szczecin, Poland. The Municipality of Szczecin established it by resolution on 2 December 1996, and it began operating on 1 January 1997.26 Its registered office is at 1A Bohaterów Getta Warszawskiego Street, Szczecin.3
STBS builds and renovates housing in different parts of Szczecin. Its work includes developing housing estates, modernising apartments in inner-city tenement buildings, and adapting attics and commercial premises. The company reports delivering more than 5,000 new apartments over more than 25 years.1 It also undertakes regeneration in central Szczecin; its reported work over the last 25 years includes reconstructing and modernising more than 580 apartments and over 100 commercial premises.1
Property management is another major activity. STBS manages its own buildings and estates as well as municipal property, covering nearly 16,500 apartments and commercial premises, and provides services to around 600 housing communities.4 In cooperation with the Municipality of Szczecin, it also runs housing programmes for students and graduates, young and large families, children in foster care, seniors, and people with disabilities.1
The company’s activity is local in focus, centred on Szczecin. Some energy-modernisation projects form part of the Integrated Territorial Investments strategy for the Szczecin Metropolitan Area and receive European Regional Development Fund support.1 Radosław Kanarek is listed as the current president of the management board; Grażyna Szotkowska held the presidency from 1997 to 2026.23
