Shomera is an Irish design and construction company based near Dublin, specialising in garden rooms and house extensions. Founded in 1999 by engineer Frank O’Sullivan, Shomera was among the first companies in Ireland to develop self-contained backyard home offices and living spaces. Over 26 years, it has expanded its offerings to include customised house extensions, with a cumulative portfolio of more than 2,600 completed projects.
The company operates from a 14,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Dunshaughlin, using an off-site, pre-build construction approach. This process enables Shomera to oversee the entire project—from initial design to final fit-out—using an in-house team of architects, engineers, builders, and project managers. The team holds Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) accreditation and maintains an ISO 9001:2000-certified quality management system.
In 2023, a management buyout saw brothers David and Stephen O’Reilly become sole owners, building on their combined 33 years of leadership within the firm. Recent projects demonstrate a broad scope: from single-story garden studios for home offices or gyms, to complex multi-story house renovations and extensions, especially in period homes across Dublin.
