Schiavi S.p.A. is a long-established construction firm headquartered in Bellusco, near Milan, Italy. Its origins date to 1928, founded by Cavalier Luigi Schiavi, whose lineage in the building sector reaches back to 1850. Officially registered with the Bergamo Chamber of Commerce that year, the company’s first decades focused on building works in the region.
From the 1960s onward, the company intensified its activities in the Milan area, expanding its administrative presence there by the early 1970s. In 1981, it assumed the name Impresa di Costruzioni Edili Luigi Schiavi S.p.A. and relocated to its current premises. The 1990s saw further expansion, both across Lombardy and in organizational capacity, as well as a significant increase in company capital.
Schiavi S.p.A. has maintained rigorous quality and compliance standards, achieving UNI EN ISO 9002 quality certification in 2000 and subsequent updates, most recently to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015. The firm is also certified for major public works, including the highest classes for civil construction and heritage restoration.
Project examples include prominent residential buildings, schools, public facilities, and the restoration of architectural heritage. In the city of Monza, Schiavi S.p.A. managed a decades-long construction project comprising ten buildings in the city center.
Today, Schiavi S.p.A. remains privately held by the founding family and focuses on constructing and restoring complex buildings throughout Lombardy, balancing tradition with contemporary requirements while operating as one of the region’s notable mid-sized builders.
