La Llave de Oro is a family-owned property developer and builder headquartered in the Pedralbes area of Barcelona. Founded in 1945 by Lluís Marsà Abad, the company is one of the oldest and most established real estate developers in the city. Its operations began in Barcelona with a focus on constructing residential buildings and quickly distinguished itself by integrating the full process—from land purchase through to construction and the individualized sale of properties—pioneering this approach in Spain.
Throughout its history, La Llave de Oro has completed projects across Barcelona and its metropolitan area as well as in the Balearic Islands, particularly Palma de Mallorca. More recently, it has expanded with significant acquisitions in Madrid, such as the purchase of plots in the Las Sedas district of Alcalá de Henares for residential development. The company has also been involved in high-profile transactions, including the sale of an office project in Barcelona’s 22@ district to Blackstone for approximately 100 million euros, and the acquisition of the Hotel Ciutat Barcelona for 29 million euros.
Today, La Llave de Oro’s portfolio primarily consists of residential developments, but also includes commercial and hospitality projects. Its business model focuses on quality construction, financial prudence, and maintaining long-term relationships with clients and partners. The company is currently led by Ferran Marsà, who represents the third generation of the founding family.
