Holscher Nordberg Architecture and Planning is a Copenhagen-based architectural studio founded by Nils Holscher and Mikkel Nordberg, active for over a decade. The firm has approximately 42 staff and its work is concentrated around both the centre and outskirts of Copenhagen.
The studio is recognized for projects that merge residential, public, and urban planning, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between public and private spaces. One notable example is the transformation of the former Electrolux factory on Hermodsgade into 189 student apartments. Completed in 2022, the project preserved the 87-year-old building's historic architecture while incorporating sustainable elements, earning a nomination for the Renover Prize.
Another recent project, The Loop in Værebro Park, exemplifies Holscher Nordberg’s participatory approach. This steel structure in a socially challenged housing estate was built with community input and serves as a social and playful meeting point linking local amenities. Other developments include housing in the Bellahøjen area and the Arenakvarteret in Ørestad, which combine different residential typologies and foster interaction through shared and semi-public spaces.
