Generation Climate Europe (GCE) is a youth-led coalition focused on climate and environmental issues at the European level. It was founded in 2019 and is based in Brussels, Belgium; its registered seat is at Rue des Deux Eglises 14–16. 1114 GCE describes itself as the largest coalition of youth-led networks in its field, with more than 200 volunteers, 381 national member organisations and members in 46 countries. 1
The organisation connects young people and youth groups with European policy processes, seeking to increase youth participation in decisions affecting climate and the environment. Its activities include policy advocacy, capacity-building and convening young people with decision-makers through initiatives such as the Youth Climate Dialogues, which bring youth into discussion with EU institutions. 13 GCE’s work spans areas including biodiversity, circular economy, clean mobility, just transition and new economy, and its teams engage with policy through consultations, meetings, reports and campaigns. 13
GCE also works to strengthen inclusion within the climate movement. Its Funding Fairer Futures project, co-funded by the European Commission, supports efforts to make the movement more inclusive and enable participation by marginalised communities. 13 Agata Meysner, a co-founder, served as director and president before becoming founding director in July 2025. 12 The organisation is legally constituted as an international non-profit association (AISBL). 14
