Fundacja Stocznia, formally known as the Shipyard Foundation, was established in Warsaw in 2009. Initially operating under the name Fundacja Pracownia Badań i Innowacji Społecznych “Stocznia,” the foundation has maintained a consistent focus on social participation and innovation. Jakub Wygnański is its current president.
The organization is recognized within Poland’s civic sector and is a member of the National Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations. Its primary activities include facilitating public consultations, conducting social research, and publishing reports that inform public policies. The foundation supports local governments, schools, and activists, helping them to implement social programs based on data-driven evaluations and citizen input.
A notable project is its involvement in the Forum Praktyków Partycypacji, which convenes professionals working on civic engagement. Stocznia is also a co-creator of Dom Innowacji Społecznych “Marzyciele i Rzemieślnicy,” a hub for social innovation at Bracka Street in Warsaw. Other examples of recent work include evaluations of multicultural support centers and tools for participatory budgeting in schools.
The foundation operates across Poland but is headquartered in Warsaw.
