The Sarajevo Canton Housing Construction Fund (Fond Kantona Sarajevo za izgradnju stanova) is a public housing-construction fund based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was established in 1998 by a decision of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly to address housing needs among families of fallen soldiers, war veterans with disabilities and displaced people.3613
The Fund’s work includes financing and contracting residential construction, building housing and mixed-use developments, and improving existing apartment buildings through additions and renovation. Its stated programmes have served veterans’ families and other veteran groups, displaced people, young people and other residents of Sarajevo Canton. The Fund reports that its investment programmes have delivered more than 3,500 homes across over 200 sites, alongside commercial premises and garages.1113
The organisation’s geographic remit is Sarajevo Canton rather than Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole. Its current portfolio includes projects in several municipalities of the canton, including Ilidža, Ilijaš and Vogošća; the website describes the “Bijeli Dvor” residential project in Ilidža, while the “Centar” development in Ilijaš combines housing, commercial units and parking.12 The Fund also says it has offered favourable financing arrangements, including long-term interest-free repayment through a pooled-funds programme.11
As of the Fund’s website information updated in 2026, Elvedin Lagarija is its director.2 The registered headquarters is at Hifzi Bjelevca 54 in Sarajevo.14
