Cairn Homes, founded in 2014 and headquartered at 45 Mespil Road in Dublin, is currently Ireland’s largest homebuilder by volume. The company’s strategy focuses on constructing residential units across the Greater Dublin Area and increasingly into other urban centres nationwide. Cairn Homes is publicly listed on Euronext Dublin and the London Stock Exchange, with Michael Stanley serving as CEO and co-founder, alongside Alan McIntosh.
Since its inception and flotation in 2015, Cairn has rapidly scaled, delivering landmark projects such as Parkside, Marianella in Rathgar, and the acquisition and development of the RTÉ Montrose campus, where plans included 500 apartments and 10 houses. The company was the first in Ireland to build over 1,500 new homes in a single year, reaching more than 2,200 completions in 2024 and overseeing 21 active sites that year.
Financially, Cairn has exhibited steady growth, reporting revenues of €860 million and operating profit of €150 million in 2024. Its activities extend beyond homebuilding to include duplexes, apartments, and some commercial spaces, with a workforce of around 400. Recent projects demonstrate diversity, from starter homes in Lucan’s Shackleton Park to luxury apartments and expansion outside Dublin, such as the new development in Douglas, Cork.
