BORD Architectural Studio is a Hungarian architecture firm founded in 2006 in Budapest by Peter Bordás, his wife, and his best friend. The studio has grown to employ around 30 architects and engineers, with offices in Budapest, Debrecen, and Zurich. Its practice spans a broad range of architectural services, encompassing conceptual design to construction phases. The team includes not only architects but also landscape architects and mechanical engineers, enabling the firm to deliver integrated, sustainable designs.
Major projects by BORD include the Nagyerdei Stadium complex in Debrecen, the rehabilitation of Nagyerdei City Park, Aquaticum Water Park, Sauska Tokaj winery, and BudaPrés Cider in Etyek. These works have been recognized for creative and context-sensitive architecture. BORD also led the reconstruction of the Hatvany-Lónyay villa in Budapest, an effort that preserved historical structures while adapting the site for contemporary use.
BORD’s approach is rooted in a detailed analysis of each site’s history, landscape, and opportunities, rejecting strict adherence to architectural styles.
